Turn Veo football film into play-by-play clips
Your Veo camera records the whole game. Coaches want it one play at a time: every snap as its own clip, in order, ready to break down. Cutting 60 to 100 plays by hand takes about an hour a game. FilmSplit does it from your Veo match link.
How FilmSplit cuts Veo football film
- Paste your public Veo match link. FilmSplit reads the follow-cam video straight from Veo.
- It finds the plays. It watches for the moment both teams are set and then everyone moves at once, from snap to whistle, including kickoffs.
- You check them. Plays it is unsure about are flagged first. Skip timeouts and warm-ups with one tap, nudge a start or end, or add a play it missed.
- Download your cut-ups. One zip of clips named 001, 002, 003 in game order.
What you get
- Every clip starts 8 seconds before the snap, so you see the formation (adjustable).
- Full-quality 1080p clips from your Veo film.
- No sideline audio unless you ask for it.
- Works on a phone or a computer.
Tips for the best results
- Make the match public in Veo, or share it with a public link.
- Film from the sideline: the 50 on a 100-yard field, the 40 on an 80-yard field.
- Check the flagged plays first. That is where any mistakes will be.
Questions
Does Veo automatically clip every football play?
Veo records the whole game and its camera follows the action, and Veo's editor lets you cut clips by hand. As of October 2026 we could not find a Veo feature that automatically cuts each American football play into its own file. FilmSplit does that part: paste your public Veo match link and it splits the game into one clip per play.
Will it catch every play?
It finds most plays on its own and marks the ones it is unsure about, so you check those first. If it misses one, tap '+ Play here' while watching to add it. Clips you do not want, like timeouts or warm-ups, come out with one tap.
How much film does each clip include?
Each clip starts 8 seconds before the snap so you see the formation, and runs a moment past the end of the play. You can pick 4 to 12 seconds before the snap for every clip, and nudge any single clip by 2 seconds or half a second.
Is the sideline audio included?
Not unless you want it. Clips export without sound by default, since sideline audio picks up play calls and conversations. Tick 'include sound' to keep it.
What does it cost?
FilmSplit is free while it is in beta.
