Does Veo cam auto-clip football?
Short answer: Veo records the whole game and its AI camera follows the action, and the Veo editor lets you make clips by hand. As of October 2026 we could not find a Veo feature that automatically cuts every American football play into its own clip. If you want play-by-play cut-ups from Veo film, FilmSplit does that from your public match link.
What Veo does for football
A Veo camera sits on the sideline and records the full game without an operator. After upload you get a follow-cam video that tracks the play, and Veo's editor has tools for clipping, drawing and sharing. Veo also offers automatic event features for some sports, so check Veo's current features for your plan.
What football coaches still need
Football film is broken down play by play. Coaches and services like Hudl work from cut-ups: one clip per snap, in order. Making those from a full game recording means scrubbing to each snap and trimming 60 to 100 clips, which takes about an hour a game.
How to get every play as a clip from Veo
- Make the match public in Veo and copy its link.
- Paste it into FilmSplit. It finds each snap and cuts the game into plays.
- Review the flagged plays, then download a zip of clips numbered in game order.
- Upload the clips to Hudl or share them with your staff.

Questions
Does Veo automatically clip every football play?
Veo records the whole game and its camera follows the action, and Veo's editor lets you cut clips by hand. As of October 2026 we could not find a Veo feature that automatically cuts each American football play into its own file. FilmSplit does that part: paste your public Veo match link and it splits the game into one clip per play.
Which Veo matches work?
Any Veo match that is public or has a public share link. In Veo, open the match, make it public, and copy the link from your browser. You can also upload a game video from another camera.
What kind of football is it built for?
Youth tackle football filmed by a Veo camera on the sideline, the way most youth teams set up: at the 50 on a 100-yard field or the 40 on an 80-yard field. Other formats, like flag or 7-on-7, may work too, but they have had less testing.
Will it catch every play?
It finds most plays on its own and marks the ones it is unsure about, so you check those first. If it misses one, tap '+ Play here' while watching to add it. Clips you do not want, like timeouts or warm-ups, come out with one tap.
Is FilmSplit made by Veo or Hudl?
No. FilmSplit is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Veo or Hudl. Veo and Hudl are trademarks of their respective owners.
