Terms of Service
Last updated October 13, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Halfling Development Services, LLC ("we", "us"), which operates FilmSplit. By using FilmSplit you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use FilmSplit.
1. What FilmSplit does
FilmSplit takes game film you point it to (a public Veo match link or a video you upload), finds the plays automatically, lets you review them and cuts them into clips you can download. FilmSplit is in beta and is currently free. We may add, change or remove features, introduce paid plans (with terms you will see and accept before paying), or stop offering FilmSplit.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, and able to agree to these terms. If you use FilmSplit for a team, school, league or club, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms on its behalf.
3. Your film and your responsibilities
- You keep all rights to your film and your clips.
- Only submit film you have the right to use: for example, film of your own team that you recorded or that your organization lets you use, and film you are allowed to download from Veo under Veo's terms.
- You are responsible for the film you submit and for any permissions it needs, including from players' parents or guardians where your team, school or league requires it. That includes permission for the training use in section 4.
- Do not submit film that is unlawful, that you do not have the rights to, or that invades anyone's privacy.
- Share review links carefully. Anyone with a link can view that game until it is deleted.
4. Permission you give us
So we can run FilmSplit, you give us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to copy, store, process and display your film only to provide FilmSplit to you: to find the plays, show them to you, make your clips, keep the service secure and fix problems. This license ends when your film is deleted, except for copies in logs or backups that are removed on their normal schedule. We do not sell your film or let anyone else train AI models on it.
Training during the free beta. As a condition of using the free beta, you also give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to keep a small, silent copy of your film together with the plays we found and the edits you export, for up to 3 years, and to use them to develop and improve FilmSplit's play detection, including training our own machine learning models. The models we train belong to us and do not contain your film. You can end this license for a game by deleting it from its review page or by emailing us, and we will delete its training copy. Models already trained are not affected.
5. Acceptable use
Do not:
- use FilmSplit to break the law or violate anyone's rights;
- try to get around usage limits, access codes or security, or open games that are not yours by guessing links;
- probe, scan or test the security of FilmSplit without our written permission;
- overload or disrupt FilmSplit, scrape it, or use automated tools beyond normal use;
- copy, resell, reverse engineer or build a competing product from FilmSplit.
6. Other companies' services
FilmSplit is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Veo, Hudl or any other company named on this site. Your use of Veo, Hudl and similar services is governed by their own terms. FilmSplit depends on how those services work, so if they change, parts of FilmSplit may stop working. We are not responsible for other companies' services.
7. Automated results
Play detection is automatic. It can miss plays, include moments that are not plays, or start and end clips at the wrong time. Review the plays before you rely on them.
8. Storage and deletion
Games, film and clips are deleted automatically 7 days after a game is created, and you can delete a game sooner from its review page. The training copies described in section 4 are kept for up to 3 years unless you delete the game. FilmSplit is not a backup or storage service, so download anything you want to keep.
9. Our software
We and our licensors own FilmSplit, including its software, design and name. These terms let you use FilmSplit as we offer it; they do not transfer any ownership to you.
10. Copyright complaints
If you believe film on FilmSplit infringes your copyright, email contact@filmsplit.com with: the review link; a description of the copyrighted work; your name, address, phone number and email; a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent or the law; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner; and your physical or electronic signature. We remove film in response to valid notices, and we stop serving people who repeatedly infringe.
11. Suspension and ending
You can stop using FilmSplit at any time. We may suspend or end your access, or remove film, if we reasonably believe you have broken these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect our users, FilmSplit or others.
12. No warranties
FilmSplit is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and that FilmSplit will be uninterrupted, accurate or error-free.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Halfling Development Services, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, film, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of FilmSplit. Our total liability for any claim about FilmSplit is limited to the greater of what you paid us for FilmSplit in the 12 months before the claim or US $50. These limits apply whatever the legal theory, even if we were told such damage was possible.
Some places do not allow some of these exclusions or limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that the law does not allow to be waived, including consumer rights.
14. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify Halfling Development Services, LLC against claims, losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from film you submit, from your use of FilmSplit in breach of these terms, or from your violation of someone else's rights.
15. Disputes
Please contact us first at contact@filmsplit.com; most problems can be solved that way. If we cannot resolve a dispute within 30 days, these terms and the dispute are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and will be decided by the state or federal courts located there, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring claims elsewhere.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and for material changes we will give notice on FilmSplit before they take effect. If you keep using FilmSplit after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
17. Everything else
These terms and our privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about FilmSplit. If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term right away, we have not waived it. You may not transfer these terms to anyone else; we may transfer them as part of a sale or reorganization of our business.
